Finding your bearings in the job search
The ANPE and its Executive Employment branch offer several orientation services: job search circles and workshops, orientation modules (ANPE), personalised advice in defining a professional project or choosing suitable training.
Certain structures are aimed more particularly at women: the BAIE ( Bureau d'Accompagnement Individualisé vers l'Emploi (Office providing Personalised Assistance in finding Work)) at the CIDF (Centre d'Information des Droits des Femmes (Women's Rights Information Centre)) offer individualised intake and advice. Retravailler 67 offers advice in putting together a professional project for women who wish to return to the employment market after a break.
Finally, young people (under 26) can consult the Relais Emploi to resolve their problems of professional orientation, training and employment. Newly qualified university graduates can access free services at the Association pour Faciliter l'Insertion Professionnelle des Jeunes Diplômés (Association to Facilitate the Professional Insertion of Young Graduates) (AFIJ), particularly for ways of finding a company, and writing and updating a CV.

Registering as a job seeker
Job seekers can file their registration by telephoning the unemployment insurance office (ASSEDIC).
For non-nationals of the European Union, the request must be made to the Allocation d'Insertion. The only document required is your residence permit.
For European Union nationals, the job seeker's registration is done in the usual way, by providing the following documents: photocopies of your identity card and social security card, form E301 (from the employment office in your country of origin), pay slips relative to the period covered by the E301 form and a bank identity certificate (RIB).

Getting involved in voluntary work
A multiplicity of structures based in Strasbourg or in other parts of Alsace will be happy to receive offers of help from volunteers. The Centre du Volontariat acts as the intermediary between volunteers and structures that need personnel and can help you to find your bearings.
