The CUS in figures

60% of the population of the Communauté Urbaine is concentrated in Strasbourg. The CUS contains 45% of the population of Bas-Rhin and more than a quarter of the population of Alsace.

Between 1999 and 2005, the population of Alsace increased by 3.5% as opposed to 2.9% for metropolitan France as a whole. The annual rate of population growth of 0.68% is therefore above average, but it has declined since the decade 1990-1999 (0.73%)
