Urban development area

Small companies which establish a base in an urban development area benefit from tax and welfare exemptions which promote their development and the creation of jobs in the neighbourhood.

Strasbourg has two urban development areas with the following objectives :

  • Support and maintain the development of economic activities in these districts
  • Enable access or return to employment for residents of the area
  • Intensify and accelerate the current urban renovation programmes

Location and perimeters

The two urban development areas in the Hautepierre and Neuhof neighbourhoods have perimeters defined by decree.

Exemptions

Companies with fewer than 50 employees which establish a base in an urban development area before 31/12/2011 benefit from tax and welfare exemptions for 5 years at the full rate, followed by a period of degression.

Exemptions from corporate welfare charges are linked to a local recruitment clause.
