With a number of corporate headquarters of banks and insurance companies, all areas of financial activity are represented in Strasbourg. These enable investors to cover all of the financial aspects of their operations.
Along with the property sector, R&D, consultancy and assistance to business represent almost 15 % of the total salaried job market.
Network services, including transport and telecommunications, are particularly well developed in Strasbourg, a city of exchange and a European confluence of information and products.
Advanced services to the public and households are noted for their quality: hospitals, tertiary education, research and culture. The CHU in Strasbourg is the city's largest employer.

Specific hosting centres
To cater for the continual development of the tertiary sector – the sector which creates the most jobs – the city of Strasbourg has set up a specific hosting centre : "E puissance 3, Espace Européen de l'Entreprise", based in Schiltigheim.
It currently plays host to more than 100 businesses, including the Société Générale's and Caisse d'Epargne's electronic banking hubs, UBR-Pramex (a subsidiary of the Banque Populaire and the German Volksbanken), Continent (a subsidiary of the Italian company, Toro Assicurazioni), MMA (territorial delegation Alsace, Lorraine and the Territoire de Belfort).
