Banks and insurance brokers
|
At the present time, Strasbourg holds one of the leading positions in finance and banking in France.
The city hosts corporate offices for twelve banks, six of which possess a trading floor. Strasbourg is noted for the presence of numerous foreign establishments whose activity focuses on clients involved in international business.

The electronic banking hub, supported by a fibre optic network
Strasbourg's privileged situation in the European fibre optic network is a major asset to the development of this sector. It enables the city to play host to major centralised treatment centres, such as the electronic banking hubs belonging to Société Générale and Caisse d'Epargne (Arpège) at the Espace Européen de l'Entreprise in Schiltigheim.
Insurance Brokers : 122 establishments
Strasbourg plays host to a high concentration of offices, delegations and regional executives from nationwide (AGF, AXA, GAN, Groupama, GMF, Azur Assurances) and international (Allianz, Generali) companies.
All areas of business are covered, whether in the field of damage insurance or personal insurance. Strasbourg is also the birth place of "bankinsurance" with ACM (Assurances Crédit Mutuel, created in 1970).
